- Jenny Packham GownToday, some brides are starting to use wedding gowns to help them define their sexuality. Instead of going with a more traditional, somewhat muted look of virginal innocence, wedding designs are getting sexier, tighter, and edgier. In some circles, these dresses are?? accepted and seen simply as a woman exerting her independence; in others, these dresses are considered inappropriate.Of course, sexy is defined in different ways. On the website The Knot, they released their Top 10 Sexy Wedding Dresses and I don’t think there’s a gown among them that pushes the boundaries. At the same time, a website called Romance Fire highlights sexy wedding gowns that could easily be (in my opinion) – “too much”. A third website called Rue The Day, shows how brides can completely toss class out the window on their wedding day.The truth is that there are no rules for what a bride can or should wear on her wedding day. Some brides wear whatever makes them feel comfortable, and that’s that. For others, their wedding day is a statement to the world; sometimes that statement happens to reveal too much skin or too much cleavage, at least it’s too much in my opinion.Brides that choose to wear a sexy gown may encounter hurdles. For instance, some churches won’t allow certain wedding attire, regardless of who’s getting married and how famous or rich they are. In addition, some family members are a bit more conservative than the couple getting married, and a sexy wedding dress may add tension to an already stressful day. If children are going to be involved or in the audienc e, brides might want to temper their choices somewhatThere’s nothing saying that a wedding dress can’t be sexy without going over the top. Sexy means different things to different people. For instance, I think the two gowns exhibited on are borderline as to what is or isn’t too sexy, but one can’t ignore that both gowns have style; the crystals add to each gowns elegance. The silhouettes on each are flowing, in contrast with the tight lacy and partially see-through bodices; do you think the gowns are too much?If you want to take a line from the musical The Producers, which says “when you’ve got it, flaunt it” then by all means, go for it. However, if you want everyone that attends your wedding to feel comfortable, go with tradition and stay on the conservative side. There are thousands of wedding gowns that scream “sexy”, but remain classy.Do you think a wedding dress can be too sexy?
